Three Dollar Bill Outdoor Cinema returns to Capitol Hill’s Cal Anderson Park with FREE outdoor movies! The fierce awakens in these outer-space tales, Friday nights in August!

All screenings begin at sunset (around 8:30pm) at the SE corner of Cal Anderson Park. Arrive early to get a good seat and join us for the pre-show events. Concessions will be open and the DJ will start at 7pm. Official announcements and activities will begin at 8pm.

All films will have subtitles. This is a smoke-free event. Bring low-backed chairs or blankets for seating, please. Hot popcorn, cold drinks, candy, and other concessions for sale on site. Limited lawnchair rentals available.

Part-time memberships are now available

We’re excited to announce the availability of part-time memberships! Introducing these additional levels of membership allows us to better serve people interested in coworking, but do not need a full-time dedicated desk.  Like our members with month-to-month memberships, members with part-time memberships have 24/7 access to the space with all the same office amenities for the number of days afforded by their selected membership plan. Part-time members simply make use of open desks that are not already in use that day by other members.

  • $240 per month = 15 days per month
  • $180 per month = 10 days per month
  • $100 per month = 5 days per month

My Branch Office has found a home!

My Branch Office has found a home!

Yes, it’s true. My Branch Office has found a home! For those of you that have been following our journey of trying to figure out where and what we want to be, or if you’re just reading this post and the preceding posts for the first time – you know that it’s been quite the journey. I’m super excited that My Branch Office has settled into a cozy space in the heart of Capitol Hill. Check out our website to learn more about our space and other information.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been working with Keith Harper and Jana Harper – the owners of The Mill – on transitioning ownership of The Mill over to My Branch Office. The Mill, a coworking space in the heart of Capitol Hill, has been successfully providing its members with a wonderful environment that has clearly fostered a strong community.

Effective today, The Mill is now My Branch Office. I’m super-thrilled to continue evolving the legacy that Keith and Jana started – and I’m incredibly grateful for the easy collaboration and the opportunity to get to know them more, as we worked on the transition.

Additionally, my appreciation goes out to the current members of The Mill who have welcomed me into the community, not just as the owner of the space, but as a member. Your insight and feedback has been incredibly valuable – and I look forward to our next steps together!

Monthly bookkeeping just became more fun!

Whether you have business or personal bookkeeping stuff to do, if you’re like me, you dread (even a little) those monthly tasks.  I’m all for making the process of ticking off the items on my bookkeeping task list more social and fun!

Things happen for a reason

I’m definitely a firm believer in the saying “things happen for a reason.”

Many folks, including myself, have been saying for quite a while that Columbia City is in need of a coworking space.  Well, it sounds like we’re not only going to have one….but maybe even two!  Yes, this is wonderful news for our growing community of Columbia City residents and coworking enthusiasts.  While I cannot publicly share information about these spaces – as they will share their fantastic news when the time is right – I will continue to congratulate them and will happily raise a glass with them when their space(s) open.

As many of you know, we here at My Branch Office were working towards opening our first location in Columbia City.  Well, as the title of this post states: things happen for a reason.  While I still believe Columbia City is in need of coworking space, I don’t believe it needs multiple (3+) spaces.  Now that Columbia City appears to be on its way to having coworking space, we are shifting our dedicated focus to South Lake Union – a neighborhood that is without a coworking space.  With the recent change in neighborhood focus, along with a few other factors, we anticipate opening a space in 2014.  The key to success here will be connecting with the community to determine its needs in a South Lake Union space.

That said, I invite everyone with an interest in coworking in South Lake Union to join the recently-created meetup group, attend some meetups and share with us your thoughts on what a coworking space in South Lake Union should entail.

However, we will continue to be involved in the Columbia City coworking community.  Personally, I want to see it continue to grow and thrive.  The South end really does need more coworking spaces (consider this a nod, as well, to our Renton coworking enthusiasts).

Again, congratulations to the founders of the new Columbia City coworking space(s)!

And to our fellow South Lake Union coworking enthusiasts….we send to you a bit “Hello!”

The Heart of Columbia City

We previously mentioned in an earlier blog post that we were exploring options for a coworking space in either Columbia City or South Lake Union.  While both neighborhoods have much to offer the Seattle coworking community, we have recently decided to put all of our focus on bringing a My Branch Office coworking space to Columbia City.

Why?  We simply want to do what we can to give back and help support the community that has opened itself up to us – through both personal relationships, as well as more recently developed professional relationships.  From a personal perspective, Columbia City has been home to us for over 3 years now.  Over that time, we have strengthened existing relationships and started new ones that we also enjoy.  And from a business perspective, we have already received support and interest from existing neighborhood business owners.  It’s those business owners who, like us, also wish to strengthen the overall Columbia City community and not only make it home for its residents, but also a welcoming destination for those Seattle residents who want to come by to dine, work, exercise and more.

All that is what makes up the “heart” of Columbia City – and why we have dedicated our focus to bring My Branch Office to this neighborhood.
